 past the military was often a central driver of technological progress - t
 hink of the history of aviation\, for example - it is now often the civili
 an sector that characterises the further development of weapons systems wi
 th its technical innovations - for example in the field of artificial inte
 lligence. What are the security policy risks of this development and what 
 role can arms control play in dealing with these risks in the face of tech
 nological progress? We will discuss these two key questions using case stu
 dies from the fields of missile defence\, space technology and artificial 
 intelligence.\n\nThere will be room for further questions over a small dri
 nk afterwards.
